FAQ

General

What should I wear? Is there any dresscode?

Think festive but practical, since we are on grass grounds.

What can we bring as a gift?

We already have too much stuff. Just showing up is enough. Your presence in Sweden, for some after booking flights and navigating airports is the best gift we could ever ask for.

But we know our friends and family. Some of you are even more stubborn that we are. If you do not want to listen to the above paragraph, we do have a “honeymoon and moving to The Netherlands adventure fund” you can chip into if you’re adamant. We will have a card box there.

Can we take photos?

Snap away but if someone looks like a goblin in it, maybe don’t post it… After the wedding, we’ll share a link where everybody can upload their favorite shots so we can all enjoy them together.

Who shall we contact if we have any other questions?

Let’s see if we can get you some answers to go with that. Contact us here.

So…. What language(s) are we speaking anyway?

The ceremony, toasts, signs and most information will be in English. But hey, broken English, charming accents, creative hand gestures, they all work. Languages are hard! And of course, feel free to speak Dutch or Swedish with your own crew whenever you like.

Attendance

When should I let you know I’ll be there or not?

We need final numbers for food, drinks, beds, and other logistics, so your reply really helps us plan. Please let us know by March 1st, 2026 at the latest. Probably rooms will be divided earlier.

You’ll find the RSVP form here. It only takes a minute and if anything changes after you’ve replied, just hit reply on the form or reach out and let us know!

What do I do if I can’t make it?

Life happens, we get it! Just let us know through the RSVP form if you can’t come. If you’ve already replied “yes” but need to cancel later, please hit reply on the confirmation email you received on the initial form or send us a message as soon as you can so we can plan accordingly.

Are (small) kids welcome?

Yes, absolutely! There’s plenty of space to run around, nature to explore, and we’ll do our best to make things kid-friendly. They are welcome throughout. Just let us know in the RSVP how many children you’re bringing and their ages, so we can plan accordingly and to make sure we don’t run out of candy.

Can I bring a plus one?

Yes! We invited everybody with the intention that you can bring a plus one (and kids are welcome too). It’s an option on the RSVP form. Just let us know if and who you’ll be bringing. We love surprises, just not the “we ran out of food” kind.

Ceremony and reception

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

We’re aiming for an outdoor celebration, please hold your fingers crossed for sunshine! That said, it is Sweden, so the weather has its own plans. Either way, we’ve got a solid backup plan. Just keep an eye on the forecast and dress accordingly!

Ok just kidding, there is no backup plan. We might need to run for cover. We’ll see,

What time should I be there?

For the wedding itself, check the plan here. We do have the place from Thursday, so if you do want to hang out with us from Thursday – Sunday, let us know on the RSVP form. We’ll be busy on Thursday with the prep, but you’re welcome to entertain yourselves and come hang out if you want!

What does the schedule look like?

You can check out the “official-ish” timeline here.

Will there be food and drinks served?

Yes! We’re planning a relaxed barbecue. Drinks will be available, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, most likely self-serve style.

What’s on the menu?

We’ll be hosting a barbecue, with meat prepared by our barbecue chef.

If you have any allergies or specific dietary needs, please let us know in advance when you fill in the RSVP form, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Will there be an open bar?

Oh yes. Drinks will be available, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, most likely self-serve style.

I want to say a few words, how can we arrange that?

Great! Please contact our toastmaster.

Travel and how to get there

What is the location for the wedding?

The wedding will take place at:

Gråbogården
Ljungslättsvägen 95
443 70 Gråbo
Sweden

Here you can find the place on Google Maps (opens in new tab).

Are the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same venue?

Yes.

What is the nearest airport?

The closest airport is Göteborg Landvetter Airport. That’s Landvetter if you’re Swedish, and GOT if you’re an airport code wizard. If you’re even nerdier than that, the ICAO code for Göteborg Landvetter Airport is ESGG.

If you want to learn more about airport codes here’s a really good video!

How do I get to the venue from the airport?

The venue is 28 km or about a 30-minute drive from Gothenburg Landvetter airport. Taxi’s, Uber and Bolt are options, but we might try to coordinate some transport as we get closer to the weekend since there will probably be a lot of people driving as well.

Public transport to the location is honestly just not great, so cars are your best bet.

Is any transportation provided?

If we see options to provide that, for example because many people land on the same time, we’ll try to arrange something closer to the date.

I want or need a hotel nearby. Any recommendations?

Not specifically but it might be good to know that we’re happy to search with you. As we are frequent travelers, we have quite some statusses built up with discounts offered. We could take a look together to help you get accomodation. Also, if there’s enough interest, we might be able to strike a good deal with one.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes! There is parking space available (free, the best kind of parking) between Thursday 25th of June at 13.00 and Sunday the 28th at 11.00.

If you’re coming with a camper or caravan, that is also possible, but please let us know beforehand so we can try to accomodate power for you.

Accomodation

Can I bring my pet?

Might be possible, please check in with us beforehand. Pets that are social are OK to bring, however, the venue does not allow pets indoors so bring whatever they need to be cozy and safe outside.

Is there WiFi available?

Oh yes. There will be internetz around the building. Connect to SSID “Guest” and the password is “grabogarden”.

Can I smoke at the venue?

You probably shoulden’t, but you can. Just head outside and use the ashtrays that are there. No smoking indoors, ofcourse.

Any activities around?

Yes! There’s plenty to do, or not to do, depending on your mood.

You’ll have access to canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, with life vests and paddles ready to go. There are forest trails to explore, and a lakeside beach area if you’re up for a swim (or just want to lounge with a view). Please pull the canoes, kayaks, SUPs and paddles up on land after usage and hang the life jackets back on the hangers to dry inside the building.

For the indoorsy people, there are board games, there’s a TV and a game console and there will be WiFi if you’re worried about potentially bored kids. We got u!

The second largest city of Sweden is 30 minutes away if you’re looking for activities outside of the accomodation. If you need some ideas on what to do in the Gothenburg area, visit: https://visitsweden.com/where-to-go/southern-sweden/goteborg/.

Note: Friday afternoon and evening will be more structured (you know, the whole “getting married” bit), but the rest of the days are left open for relaxing, exploring, and spending time with each other. We’ll make some plans that we will invite people to but you’re also most welcome to just come hang out. Join if it sounds fun, or just don’t and relax.

Where can I sleep?

The venue has eight bedrooms that we can offer to some of our guests for free. It’s basic accomodation, but comfy enough for a good sleep. The rooms share bathrooms and toilets but there should be plenty.

We’ll be doing our best to divide the rooms fairly if they’re in demand. Priority goes to guests traveling from afar (brave souls), and we’ll sort out the rest as best we can. If you’d like a room or a bed, let us know on the RSVP form. No promises, but we’ll try to make it work.

If beds run out, or you just prefer the outdoors, camping is totally an option. There’s space to pitch a tent, and the grounds have shared bathrooms, toilets, and electricity. Bring a tent or a camper, and make yourself at home under the trees. Let us know when you RSVP and we’ll try to accomodate you as best as we can.

In the nearest village, there is also some airbnb’s and hotels around if you prefer that, and the place is 30 minutes from the big city if you’d like the more urban stay.

What can I expect from the rooms?

The rooms are basic. They have bunkbeds and a desk and come with bedding and towels. For the rooms in the large building there’s a door that leads you to a shared terrace for some rays of sunshine.

There are four showers and four toilets in the buildings to share. Bathroom facilities have showergel, soap dispensers and hand sanitizers. There’s WiFi in the rooms.

Here’s what the rooms look like to give you an impression:
